Here at Machon Ot we pay special attention to high-quality photography of Sifrei Torah.

Every Torah that undergoes a process of repair and preservation at Machon Ot is photographed as part of our quality control to ensure that nothing was overlooked in the repair process. The photographs are then computer scanned with the results analyzed and checked by our proofreaders.

Our photographic services are designed to provide high-quality analysis to both owners of Sifrei Torah and to sofrim (scribes) who wish to have their own work reviewed at the very highest level.

In addition, scholars and researchers from Israel’s National Library make use of the services of Machon Ot in their study of ancient Torah scrolls and to determine whether or not repairs were made to the Torah over the periods of time. Through the analysis they are able to determine both the age of the Torah and its country of origin.
